It’s Wednesday.

That means it’s time for the Weekly Pulse Check.

Steeler Nation, where we stand right now is on the edge — looking down, wondering if it’s worth it.

It is.

I know you’re trying to pull yourself off the mat. That’s all I’ve been trying to do for the past couple of days. But we’re here. We made it to Wednesday.

The world is about to flip over the calendar year.

So why don’t we?

Mike Tomlin opened his Tuesday press conference by saying:

“Welcome to AFC North Championship week.”

That statement pissed off a lot of Steelers fans — myself included.

Hey Mike, if you would have beaten the Browns on Sunday, it would be:

“Let’s talk about who’s resting for our home playoff game.”

Instead, we’re preparing for the mass punishment Derrick Henry is about to bring.

All of the chaos aside, I’ve developed a simple mentality:

So what.

Let’s just go win.

Yes, that loss was ugly.

Yes, I wanted to jump off a cliff.

Yes, I wanted to drink bleach until my eyeballs bled.

Yes — I wanted to win.

But with the world against us and our backs firmly against the wall, this feels like the exact spot where this team thrives.

They’ve done it all year.

Just when you’re ready to bury them and walk away… they rise.

So that’s where my pulse is on this dreadful and beautiful Wednesday.

I think this team rises to the occasion.

I think we’ll be hosting a home playoff game next week.

Stop the run.

Run the football.

Here we go, Steelers.
