The Tomlin era is nearing its end with the current trajectory of play. It’s had its up and downs throughout the years. But the current state of the team and franchise as a whole of being “stuck” is coming to a boiling point.

Steelers fans are tired of being just good enough to maintain a winning record, and getting are ass handed to us in the first round of the playoffs. Deep playoff runs and championship’s used to be the standard for this organization and now let’s call it what it is and it’s a dog and pony show “never had a losing season”. So what, what have we won recently? Nothing absolutely nothing!

The future I see, has a promising young head coach that is offensively minded and is his background. Some new blood to revitalize the organization, the team, the fans base, and the offense. Bring it into today’s age of play calling and schemes. The stone age offense and lack of an offense we currently have won’t be hard to replace.

The new head coach would bring in his own defense coordinator and assistants. He wouldn’t handcuff his coordinators. He would to allow them to actually coach based from their merit and philosophy they want to implement.

I have a couple of guys I wouldn’t mind seeing be named the new head coach of the Pittsburgh Steelers. New blood, young, motivated, and not scared of failure.

First name that comes to mind is the current offensive coordinator of the Buffalo Bills Joe Brady. He’s interviewed for head coaching positions previously, has a proven track record of being successful calling plays. At LSU with Joe burrow and currently in Buffalo with Josh Allen. The first thing you may say is those are all world talents at the QB position. Fine, that would be an accurate statement. We currently have a big bodied rookie QB with an above average arm, and above average mobility in Will Howard he can help groom and work with. If that’s not the answer then draft your QB, trade up and take a big swing. Bring change to the organization.

The second name that comes to mind is current offensive coordinator of the Seattle Seahawks Klint Kubiak. The Seahawks pile drove us earlier in the year. He’s working with QB Sam Darnold who athletically is average for the NFL level. Good arm, serviceable mobility. With an effective run game to help set up the passing offense.

These two options I believe would be able to get the most out of the current roster, and the future moving forward. It would breathe life into Pittsburgh that is desperately needed.
